What does our Creator and Sustainer of our life need from us?
Other than love-inspired obedience at all times to His ways
If Christmas reminds us of one thing most conspicuous
Then it is that of love laced obedience which is at once contagious
We see obedience to God’s call in young Virgin Mary
There she was willing to bear the insults of the society
In order she brings forth an utterly pure God’s Son to this World
Are we also willing to obey, even if many difficulties unfold?
We see obedience in Joseph the righteous carpenter
In accepting Mary as his wife, he displayed-to God’s will-complete surrender
His obedience was always laced with swiftness of action
We too should never tarry whilst acting on any Divine instruction
Shepherds on seeing the angels sing the Good News hurried to Bethlehem
Seeing the wondrous Christ-child was all that mattered to them
About the Divine experience-with all they met- they had much to say
We too need to share the love we experienced in Jesus with all the Lord sends our way
For witnessing the ultimate act of obedience on Christmas day
We need not look beyond God’s Son –our Only Way
There He condescended to Earth in full obedience to the Father
Knowing full well, what He had to endure later
In all of human history in the matter of loving obedience there is no better model
In our Christian journey, in everything let’s emulate Christ’s example
So that like Him we too would bring glory and joy to our Heavenly Father,
Who at our life journey’s end would welcome us finally to the Heavenly shores to stay with Him forever.
